Softly Cries Under The Mask

She wears a mask

To hide the ugliness underneath

She cries each night

Not knowing what she might feel next

Under that mask it self

Is where she keeps it all in

The pain of her unwanted feelings

She keeps them bottled up

So no one will know and that no one can see

She thinks she is not wanted

So she cries softly under the mask

Hoping one day that the light will come

That when it comes

Everything will be mended

Everything will feel whole once more

And that the mask will brake

And her true self will smile with love

Instead of hate
