AFL 2 Part 2 Chapter 12

 
"All hands on deck right away!" said John Barrix over the intercom of his ship The Barrix Honor.

A storm was approaching them fast. Everyone was scrabbling to their places to secure the ship's sails and themselves. Lee was tightening everyone's safety lines including his own. While Takako, Riku, Sakura, Jim, and Rebekah got the sails put away. V.I.N.cent was taking control of the helm. The winds were blowing at a high speed. Karin was below deck making sure Wall.E, EVE and the pets were all safe and sound. Ginnie made sure nothing else was out of place and know one would fall over bored in this wild storm. John was making sure everything else at the control station was working properly.

"Big Brother!" Sakura called out. she tried to walk towards him. The winds were picking up. Her safety line trailing behind her as she handed her brother some rope for him to use, "Take this and secure yourself." she said while talking over the howling of the winds.

"Thanks sis." He said. John then made a good sailor knot and was secured and ready for the big hit of the storm. "Go to Riku and the others. Ill be okay." John said giving a thumbs up.

Sakura went back to the others, Riku put an arm over her as they got ready for the worst. The storm blasted them to the far left of the harsh wind currants. They began to spin out of control. Everyone held on even tighter Ginnie managed to make himself big enough and covered everyone. He even made a duplicet of himself and shield John and V.I.N.cent.

Where were they headed with such a huge storm know one could say for sure. They all just hoped they would be okay in the end.

Not far off another ship was being caught off guard by this huge storm. And that ship was non other then The Silver Knight. Where Rin was on broad. She woke up to the ship spinning and her feeling sick to her stomach from it all. Midori was hiding in one of Rin's pockets on her black sleeveless vest. She too did not feel well from the rocking and spinning. Rin held on to dear life to the bed while sitting up. She crouched downwards so if anything were to hit her it would not injure her pet as well. Rin could not take anymore of the spinning and was about to let her dinner go, when she was hit in the back of the head by something falling from one of the shelves. It knocked her out cold.

The next thing Rin knew she was laying down on her bed. She felt a sharp pain to her head for a moment. But it went away right after that. "Ow I feel like I was hit by a bus." she said out loud. She sat up and took her blanket off.

Her room was a mess from the storm shaking everything around. The only thing that was bolted to the ground, or walls was the shelves and her bed. She stood up feeling a little dizzy but manged to calm down. She had to move slowly at first but found her balance once more. Once she looked outside into the hall she saw no sigh of anyone. But then she heard the voices of the crew men on the main deck above. She sighed in relief that the storm had not taken anyone's life. Once on deck Midori stood on her shoulder as Rin looked at the after math of the ship. Everyone was seated in 3 rows all chatting amongst each other. Rin was glad to see everyone seemed okay. Now she wondered where Norrick and the Captain both where. She asked one of the crew men. He told her the two brothers were in a meeting in the Captains office. She thanked him. Just as she was about to sit down. She saw that they where not in the Etherium but in the middle of a swamp!

Did the storm really throw them off course and they had to land on this world to avoid any further suffering from the storms wrath? This was something new indeed. A moment later Norrick and Captain Allen step out on deck. Rin sat down, waiting to hear from them.

"Well Gentlemen and Lady, it seems we are off from our main course. However this world we are on is called New Orleans. That is what it shows on our world chart." Explained Allen. "Id also like to inform everyone that the invisibility shield is over the ship too. Since Norrick and I have know idea what era of New Orleans we are in and on. The ship is in also need of a bit of repair with one of the solar sails ripped up. It will take a bit of time for us to get back in the Etherium. That's all I have for now. Other than orders to give out to you men." Allen was done talking for now.

After orders were given out. Rin took Midori back to the bed room. "Okay Midori I am going to see if I can help with anything and I want you to stay here and be a good girl." Rin said while patting her pet fox-squrriel. "I even left you some fresh water and food for now. So behave and no exploring or I wont be happy." Rin finally said.

Midori gave a nod with her head and a swish of her tail once siting down on the bed.

Takako was the first to awaken. She had a dream Rin was on the same world as them. Since they where looking for her and all. She got up and dusted herself off and took in her surroundings. She saw willow tree after willow tree once she did a full 360 turn. She then saw her friends began to awaken. Takako went over to Sakura who was near the side of the ship. "Are you alright Sakura?" Takako asked her friend.

"I think so. That was some storm." replied Sakura as she stood up. "Where are we anyways?" she asked looking all around.

"I am not sure at the moment. We should ask V.I.N.cent for our charts." Takako suggested.

Once everyone was on deck John made sure to ask if everyone was alright. "Everyone is in good shape?" he asked.

Everyone groaned from little aches and pains but other than that they seemed fine.

John turned to V.I.N.cent, "Can you tell us what world we might be on?"

*Beeb* "I am trying to calculate our location Mr.Barrix. But it seems we don't have a good connection in this part of the swamp." V.I.N.cent explained.

"So for sure we are in a swamp? Is that correct V.I.N.cent?" John asked while putting his hand to his forehead feeling like a headache was coming on.

*Beeb* "That is correct sir. I am also picking up a signal from another solar ship." *Beep*.

John looked up and walked over to see the radar graph. It indeed show another ship near by. Not only that something else was being picked up on the radar just north of his ship.

"V.I.N.cent can you get us some images or figure out what this object is just north of us. Including the ship please." John asked.

Once the robot was done searching he was able to identify the object and the other ship. *Beep* "It seems the place I am getting images of is an old Victor-en style mansion from the north. And to the south-west of us is The Silver Knight." *Beep*

John was shocked to hear that the ship Rin was on, was on the same world they where. Perhaps they got caught in the same storm. John clicked some buttons on the ships controls and was able to send out a signal to the Silver Knight. Hoping they would see it soon.

"Everyone can I have your attention please?" John said. "Just North of us is a Victorian Mansion and not far from us as well is the Silver Knight. Seems luck is on our side. Rin is really close by."

Everyone smiled and felt really happy their friend was close by. And luck was indeed on their side. Or so they thought?
