Future bathed in light

Her past is shrouded in shadows
Her future is bathed in light

She cowered under the bed for fearing she would be dead
She was as silent as a moonless night but the fear would never leave her eyes

This was the only path she thought there was?
Not knowing something more was out there for her to explore!

Every day she would awaken dreading what may come her way
Every night could never be mistaken as her haunted past consumed her mind and soul

She looks back with no regret but still hopes for a better day to come
Her eyes hold no fear, instead replaced by strength to go on

With each new day she draws closer to the light
And with each nightfall becomes a little clearer then the last

With hope set in the palm of her hands
She has at last found a reason to move forward
